Soccer Action is a community program that utilizes soccer to drive social and community cohesion in the Stoke area of the UK. The program targets disengaged young people and encourages them to work as a team and participate in purposeful out-of-school activities.

We have provided over $100,000 of funding, as well as management support, which has unlocked public sector funds to create a $680,000 four-year soccer coaching program, with support from the Soccer Foundation and Sportsmatch. Additional funding has enabled the program to extend to more schools.

This program has already proven extremely effective in reducing vandalism and other anti-social behavior amongst students at risk of social exclusion.

The program was officially launched by Rt. Hon. Richard Caborn MP, Minister for Sport, in December 2006.
