History

An industry pioneer
Balfour Beatty was founded in 1909 in the United Kingdom. At its inception, we provided engineering, contracting and operating services for railways, tramways and lighting properties. By the 1950s, we had completed many complex civil engineering projects. Over the next decade, four divisions were formed: Building, Engineering, Rail and Investments.
